What Pau d'arco herb Is:

In the Brazilian variation of Portuguese, pau d'arco translates as "bow tree." This is just one name (ipe roxo, tahibo, and tahuari are others) for a medicinally important genus that grows in savannas and rain forests. Some species have pink or purple flowers; others have yellow blooms. Many even flower during the dry season, when the trees are leafless. The wood of some species is so hard that it'll damage an ax head.

The native Indians of Brazil use the bark of this tree for many ailments. It has antibacterial, antiviral, anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects.
