Green tea health supplements, Dosage Information:
Look for capsules with an extract standardized for 80 percent total polyphenol and 55 percent epigallocatechin gal late (a type of polyphenol), or look for loose tea. (If you want to avoid the caffeine, purchase decaffeinated varieties.) To make tea, pour 8 ounces of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of tea leaves and steep for three minutes. Drink up to 5 cups daily, preferably with meals. For other forms, follow dosage recommendations on the package.
Possible Green tea health side Effects:
Drinking large amounts of tea may cause insomnia, anxiety, or restlessness because of the caffeine content; green tea typically does not cause these symptoms. You may want to use a decaffeinated brand if you are sensitive to caffeine.
Possible Interactions:
The effects of the caffeine may be exacerbated by birth control pills and various antibiotics.
