•   Ginger relieves symptoms of nausea, motion sickness, and morning sickness. In addition, studies have found ginger to be quite effective in treating nausea associated with chemotherapy. Take one of the following three times daily: 250-milligram capsules or tablets; 1 cup ginger infusion (250 milligrams ginger powder in 8 ounces of boiling water); or 1/2 teaspoon of tincture. Take on an empty stomach.

•   Peppermint relieves nausea. Drink up to 3 cups of tea daily.

•   Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) helps relieve nausea. For morning sickness, take 10 to 25 milligrams three times daily. For motion sickness, take 100 milligrams one hour before the trip, followed by 100 milligrams two hours later.

•   Acidophilus helps restore bacterial balance in the digestive tract. Take one dose three times daily for a week; follow package label for dosage information.
