What Eyebright herb Is:

The name says it all: Eyebright has always been associated with healthy eyes (or treating unhealthy, inflamed eyes). The species, which grows naturally throughout the northwestern part of North America, boasts almost 200 siblings, all tough to tell apart. They're tiny, no more than about 6 or so inches tall, with small, red-tinged, white flowers that somewhat resemble bloodshot eyes. From the eleventh century on, the plant has been used to treat various eye ailments.

Known throughout history as a treatment for eye problems, eyebright has anti- catarrhal, anti-inflammatory and astringent actions.
