Dandelion plant

The dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), often regarded as a weed, has extremely high levels of vitamin A and good levels of vitamins C, D, and various B vitamins, plus iron, silicon, magnesium, manganese, and potassium.

Women with PMS often take dandelion to help relieve water retention. The high level of potassium in the leaves makes dandelion the only potassium-sparing diuretic. (Diuretics typically deplete the body of potassium, which is the problem with most diuretic drugs.)

The bitter components known as sesquiteropene lactones, found in both the roots and leaves, are responsible for dandelion's healing qualities.

Uses of Dandelion plant: Dandelion is used to treat canker sores, gallstones, menopausal symptoms, and premenstrual syndrome.
