Burdock herb extract, benefits, health, effects, plant, supplements, side effects Burdock
What burdock herb Is:
A biennial weed from the aster family that may grow up to 6 to 8 feet tall, burdock came from Europe and now can be found in fields and along roads throughout North America as far north as Michigan and Quebec; as far south as Pennsylvania, Illinois, and even Alabama; and as far west as California. It features large leaves, some with heartlike notches at the bottom, and purplish flowers that precede the small burs that harden as they ripen. The plant's roots are considered vegetables in Japan, as common as carrots in the United States. Young burdock leaf stalks are a good addition to soups but too bitter for salads.
Cultivated as a food in Japan, burdock herb is valued as a blood purifier and cleanser. It stimulates the secretion of digestive juices, especially bile.
Burdock effects
Burdock is used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, boils, acne and eczema. It is also used to treat arthritis.
