Arthralgia

What is Arthralgia?

The term arthralgia means joint pain, but tells us nothing about a reason for the pain. It could come, for example, from overuse of the joint: bursitis in a golfer's shoulder or tennis elbow; from joint irritation caused by a viral infection: the severe aching in the back that accompanies influenza; or from arthritis: the true inflammation that reddens, swells, and sometimes gnarls the joints.

ArthralgiaWhat helps Arthralgia?

• Because the kind of nutritional supplement that will help joint pain is going to depend on what causes the problem, we would refer you to the listings of specific causes for joint pain: arthritis or osteoarthritis (the wear-and-tear, old-age kind), rheumatoid arthritis (the destructive kind that strikes younger age groups, even children), carpal tunnel syndrome, lupus erythematosus.

What makes Arthralgia worse?

• Again, see specific conditions.
